Clinical Training Academy in East Texas
MeritLife Academy is a reliable clinical training institute in East Texas founded upon a solid background of over 25 years of experience in nursing in long-term care. We enable students to participate in nurse aide training with our online Red Cross Curriculum.
We welcome you to the heart of nursing with our blended learning program, including a virtual classroom, face-to-face skills lab, and clinical rotation.
Our Services & Facilities
MeritLife Academy offers nurse aide training services in four different facilities in this region to match the students' geography for the clinical experience. We are always excited to share our experience and love of direct patient care with you. We have facilities throughout East Texas and rotate biweekly skills lab/clinical training.
Regulations & Certifications
MeritLife Academy is approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Colleges (pending), Austin, Texas, and Texas Health and Human Services (pending), Austin, Texas. We strive to offer the best training experience to our students and prepare them to offer excellent health care.

John Gruber
Administrator-Financial Officer-Owner
John has a long history with administration and accounting through his company Sunnyland Software LLC and Just Whistle Junction, with 20-plus years of experience as owner administrator. He brings his wealth of knowledge to MeritLife Academy as Administrator, Financial Officer, and owner.
Betty Gruber RN
Director-Instructor-Owner
Betty has been a practicing RN since 1992, working initially in the hospital setting, in Home Health, and in 1996 in a nursing home in Jefferson, Texas, where she found her passion in nursing to be working with the elderly in long-term-care facilities. Betty also worked at Panola College for over 4 years, from 1996-2020, as the Director of the Nurse Aide program there.
Bailey Harvey
Representative
Bailey is the first representative for MeritLife Academy. She joined our team through her work in MeritLife CPR, and her bright, outgoing personality makes her a perfect fit as a representative for MeritLife Academy. Bailey is continuing her education with a heart to becoming a Labor Delivery nurse.
